Our first project for Teresa started in August 2006 and proved to be a mammoth undertaking.

150 tonnes of earth and clay had to be removed from site before the design could begin to take shape. And because of the restricted access those 150 tonnes translated into around 2500 wheelbarrows full!

The actual construction of the garden got underway just as one of the wettest winters in recent years hit us, and the building work was finally complete by the end of January 2007.

By the beginning of April the threat of frost had passed and the garden was ready for turfing and the first stage of planting.

Planting will continue throughout this year and by summer 2008 the garden will be looking superb.

" On 'build only' projects, you not only have to please the client, but to some extent you are also responsible for the designer's reputation, so the standard of work really does need to be spot on.

This has been without a doubt the most demanding project we have ever undertaken.
The sheer volume of removal on this job was at times almost overwhelming. Add to this a highly technical design that had to be millimetre perfect, and an incredibly fastidious client who quite rightly had a vision of perfection for his garden. Then throw almost three months of constant rain into the mix, and you have a project that tested our skills and tenacity to the limits!

But now it's complete....
The client is absolutely thrilled with his garden.
The client's colleagues are thrilled that he's no longer leaving muddy footprints all over the office.
Teresa is thrilled to see her design in three dimensions.
And me? I'm thrilled to be taking pictures of this wonderful garden in the sunshine with my sanity still virtually intact ;-) "
